Cerebral Palsy (CP), a major neurodevelopmental disorder impacting movement and posture. Dr. Varnit Shanker led thesession, offering an evidence-based approach to assessment, classification, and rehabilitation. The lecture began with anoverview of perinatal brain injury mechanisms leading to CP, including hypoxic-ischemic events, prematurity, and infection.Participants were familiarized with the Gross Motor Function Classification System (GMFCS) and MACS for functionalassessment. Dr. Varnit Shanker emphasized early diagnosis through red flags like delayed sitting, abnormal tone, orasymmetric movement.
