ICON FOUNDATION organized a community awareness program onHead Trauma and Injury Prevention at the CHC in Jodhpur. The session, titled“Protect the Young Brain,” focused on educating parents, school staff, andcommunity health workers about child head injury prevention, early signs ofconcussion, and emergency response steps.

Dr. Varnit Shanker explained the major causes of pediatrichead trauma, including falls, road accidents, sports injuries, and unsafe homeenvironments. He highlighted key warning signs that require immediate medicalattention, such as loss of consciousness, repeated vomiting, seizures, andbehavioral changes. The expert also emphasized long-term risks likepost-traumatic seizures and cognitive decline if early intervention is missed.

A video demonstration showcased proper helmet use,playground safety tips, and home safety modifications for toddlers. A total of45 participants actively engaged in a “Brain Safety Rules” quiz, reinforcingessential safety practices.

The event concluded with the distribution of educationalposters titled “Safe Kids, Safe Brains.” This initiative effectivelystrengthened community awareness, promoted child safety, and encouraged aproactive injury-prevention culture among caregivers.
